FCI designs, manufactures and sells a broad line of air / gas mass flow meters utilizing thermal dispersion and measurement technology. Thermal dispersion technology utilizes the relationship between flow rate and cooling effect for direct measurement of mass flow. With no moving parts and minimal invasiveness, thermal dispersion is ideal and widely applied in air and gas applications, and provides a highly repeatable and accurate measurement.

FCI transmitters and electronics feature advanced microprocessor-based circuitry and rugged construction. These include features such as simple configuration of the signal outputs, display or alarm setting in the field, or analog and digital outputs, easy servicing and maintenance, and long-life in even the harshest of plant installations.

ST Series: Thermal Dispersion Air/Gas Mass Flow Meters

ST50 Mass Flow Meter

The ST50 Series Flow Meters are an accurate, easy to install, no moving parts mass flow meter solution. Model ST50 is used for compressed air and nitrogen flow. Model ST51 is used for measuring biogas, digester gas, methane and natural gas. The ST50 Series utilizes FCI proven thermal dispersion technology to provide direct mass flow measurement resulting in higher performance at a lower cost than orifice plates, DP, Vortex shedding and other thermal devices. The meter installs in line sizes ranging from 2 to 24 inches [51 to 610mm] with 1/2" or 3/4" NPT.

The ST50 Series uses precision, lithography structured platinum RTD sensors embedded in FCI's equal mass small diameter, all metal thermowells. Combined with microprocessor electronics and precision calibration, the ST50 achieves excellent accuracy, fast response and virtually maintenance free operation.

ST51 Mass Flow Meter

The ST50 Series Flow Meters are an accurate, easy to install, no moving parts mass flow meter solution. Model ST50 is used for compressed air and nitrogen flow. ST75/ST75V Mass Flow Meter

The ST75 is an accurate, no moving parts, direct mass flow measurement and monitoring solution for fuel gases, air, compressed air, inert and other gas flows within industrial processes. It is available in nine different sizes for direct, in-line installation in line sizes from 1/4 to 2 inch [ 6 to 51mm].

By combining precision lithography structured platinum RTD sensors embedded in FCI's equal mass thermowells with microprocessor electronics and precise actual gas calibration, the ST75 achieves outstanding flow measurement performance. Using FCI's proven thermal dispersion technology, the ST75's direct mass flow measurement, eliminates the cost and space of additional sensors required by inferred technologies. With its 100:1 turndown and flow ranges from 0.01 to 559 SCFM [0.01 to 950 NCMH], the ST75 measures over a wide flow range, from low to high flow conditions. The ST75 is available in specific calibrations for most gases including natural gas, methane and other hydrocarbon gases, as well as, nitrogen, CO2, argon and all inert gases, compressed air and more.

ST98B-AN Mass Flow Meter

The ST98B-AN BASIC insertion type FlexMASSter sets a new standard for thermal mass flow meter performance, ease of use and installed value for Air or Nitrogen service. This field selectable insertion unit features an application-specific instrument package for fast ordering, simple installation and precision measurement.

The ST98B-AN BASIC features FCI's popular ST98 Series innovative flow element design with leading-edge flow transmitter electronics and temperature compensation to ensure optimum performance in process temperatures that vary up to ± 100° F. ST98 Mass Flow Meter

The ST98 insertion-style mass flow meter is the flow measurement solution for virtually any gas or gas mixture in line sizes from >2 inches up to 42 inches [50mm to 1066mm].1 With ST98, FCI combines superior, equal mass thermal-dispersion flow sensing elements and precision electronics with exacting actual fluid calibration and a choice of rugged, industrial enclosures to deliver accurate, highly repeatable flow measurement and long lasting service for the most demanding processes.

ST98L Mass Flow Meter

The ST98L in-line style mass flow meter is the flow measurement solution for virtually any gas or gas mixture in line sizes 1 to 2 inches [25mm to 50mm]1. With ST98L, FCI combines superior, equal mass thermal-dispersion flow sensing elements and precision electronics with exacting actual fluid calibration and a choice of rugged, industrial enclosures to deliver accurate, highly repeatable flow measurement and long lasting service for the most demanding processes.

ST98HP Mass Flow Meter

The ST98 High Purity mass flowmeters are ideally suited for the pharmaceutical, biotech, food & beverage and semiconductor industries. FCI's thermal dispersion technology provides exceptionally accurate and repeatable indications of mass flow rate. The sensing element combines two matched precision resistance temperature detectors (platinum RTDs). The active RTD is preferentially heated with a constant current. The reference RTD is preferentially heated with a constant current. The reference RTD senses at the process fluid temperature. As flow passes the element a resistance differential is produced proportional to the mass flow rate.

ST100 Mass Flow Meter

ST100 is an all-new, thermal dispersion technology gas flow meter that combines the most feature- and function- rich electronics with the industry's most advanced flow sensors to achieve a truly state-of-the-science flow metering solution for industrial processes and plant applications.

Technology Used

Oxygen – a choice of two Servomex paramagnetic transducers (standard or high accuracy) both offering fast selective measurement of oxygen without the disadvantages of electrochemical or zirconia cells.
Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide – Single beam, single wavelength infrared technology using Servomex patented long life source gives a highly stable, selective and low maintenance measurement.

Headline Filters

Headline Filters produce a wide range of products for the filtration industry, from filter elements, for coalescing or particulate duty, in a wide variety of industry-standard sizes to filter housings in a variety of materials for pressures up to 700 bar. To complement these products, we also offer a range of Membrane Separator housings for those applications requiring zero liquid entrainment.

Also available are disposable inline filters which offer the user a cost-effective and easy-to-replace robust filter suitable for portable analyser systems.

Headline Filters also produce adsorption products in a variety of forms, ideal for last-chance air purification and analyser protection. Disposable types eliminate the need to handle loose adsorbents although re-fillable versions are also available. Many different adsorbents are available to cater for virtually all requirements.

Compressed Air Filtration

These filters are suitable for a variety of gas and liquid applications. The disposable bonded microfiber filter elements are extremely efficient as well as being low cost. They offer high flow rates with very low pressure drops. All products conform to industry standard sizes and grades and are completely interchangeable with other manufacturers housings and filter elements.
