Safety equipment and measures to guard against hazardous gases and vapors are becoming increasingly important. Continual monitoring and early warning of the presence of explosive or harmful gases and vapors are provided by gas warning systems from Bieler+Lang.
These systems comprise detectors, a controller with control outputs, and connected units such as safety valves, fans and signaling systems.
Stand-alone detectors can trigger safety responses without a controller.

Combined with up to 64 detectors with an output of 4-20 mA, the GMC 8364 displays the gas concentration and triggers safety responses if the gas concentration is too high.
Up to 48 outputs can be connected to this flexible system with the aid of extension cards.
GMC 8420
The GMC 8420 controller is a convenient wall-mounted control system that requires no additional internal wiring.
The GMC 8420 can be used for direct alarm triggering with its internal signaler or to control external signalers.
Up to 4 measuring points can be connected to the unit. All of our 4-20 mA sensors are suitable. Additional functionality is provided by the RK 8420, which features 4 programmable relay outputs for alarms 1 and 2 and buzzer.
The GMC 8420 is designed to be connected to detectors in explosion zone 2.
ExDetector HC 100
The ExDetector HC 100 is used to measure the current concentration of explosive gases and vapors.
The ExDetector HC 100 detects combustible gases and vapors within a range of 0 %-100 % LEL. It uses the principle of catalytic combustion (heat of reaction), which allows it to monitor many different gases such as hydrogen and hydrocarbons.
The ExDetector HC 100 is a very versatile detector, particularly suitable for use in explosion zone 1 and SIL-1 safety systems.
The measuring function is type-tested in accordance with Directive 94/9/EC.
ExDetector HC 100-K and ExDetector HC 100-T for installation in ducts
The combination of the ExDetector HC 100-T and HC 100-K was specially designed for installation in ducts and features a remote transmitter.
This special combination is used to measure the current concentration of explosive gases and vapors in a pipe network.
The HC 100-K measures combustible gases and vapors within a range of 0 %-100 % LEL. It uses the principle of catalytic combustion (heat of reaction), which allows it to monitor many different gases such as hydrogen and hydrocarbons.
The combination of the ExDetector HC 100-T and HC 100-K can be used in explosion zone 1 and SIL-1 safety systems.
The measuring function is type-tested in accordance with Directive 94/9/EC.
ExDetector HC 200
