Qubit Systems Inc. specializes in instrumentation for biological sciences. They provide solutions for industry, research and teaching applications. Qubit manufactures and sell a broad range of gas analyzers, environmental sensors, instruments for aquatic and terrestrial animal biology, plant and soil physiology, algal research, human physiology and a broad range of packages for teaching biology.
Qubit Systems Inc. was founded by Queen’s University, Canada, researchers in 1996 to meet the needs of professional scientists and teachers. They speak the language, and are always ready for free consultation concerning any aspect of your research or teaching needs.
This includes the gas analyzers for O2, CO2, CH4, H2, (for various ranges) as well as other environmental sensors, gas mixing and flow measurement, gas control, aquatic control, pressure and light measurements.
Qubit can do both gas phase and liquid phase analysis. Sometimes using different sensors, for example O2 analyzer for gas phase or dissolved O2 probes and electrodes for liquid phase. For dissolved gases sampling probes may be used or head space above liquid may be used.
Qubit also offer gas control systems or gas mixing systems. These have applications when the concentrations of gases needs to be controlled, either being delivered to samples, plants, animals, or some industrial processes.
Alternatively, concentration of gases can be controlled in chambers, or rooms using feedback control systems. Gas control may be done in gas phase or in liquid phase with aquatic control systems.
The research Q-Box packages
These packages are complete with all the sensors, and accessories, chambers, data interface and software needed to study wither plants (photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration) or animals and insects (respiration and water loss). The user only needs to provide a computer and the organism to be studied.
For universities and other teaching institutes, the Q-teach packages is ideal for teaching of plant and animal physiological processes. These are also complete with all of the components and the user only needs to get the computers and organisms to study. These include laboratory manuals with few experiments that have been written up with all the instructions so the instructor has minimal amount of work to do when teaching these concepts.
